Planning my wedding in Vietnam

Still can’t believe that it’s been a month since Steve and I exchanged vows! We’re both excited about this new chapter of our lives and build our own family.
I’m sharing with you how we pulled off the #ngocandsteve nuptials through the help of our amazing wedding suppliers. It took me 6 months to plan for the wedding so I want to share with you all the details.
If you are a blushing bride-to-be and is under a lot of stress for wedding planning, I hope you can pick up a lot of tips and recommendation from this blog I’ve put together.

Pre-wedding photographer - photographer Katrin Alber
I was lucky to find an amazing photographer in New York. She is a wonderfully talented artist and has a sense of humour. She made us feel comfortable while capturing our moments and showing us a lot of nice spots in Central Park (even though we've been here many times 🤓) Let's take a look at her beautiful work 😀
Wedding Invitation - Thiep cuoi Thom
Our beautiful wedding invite is a product of the creative collaboration of Ms Thom and me. Despite the long-distance, we were able to discuss, choose the font and design the elegant invites which beyond what I expected. I really appreciate that she flew from Hue to Saigon to print and deliver the invites.
Event Photographer - Kevin Ngo Photographer
I’ve always wanted my wedding photos to focus on candid moments. I want the photos to capture the raw and real moments of our special day.
Kevin and his team did a good job of taking our moments and we were amazed at how the photos turned out!

Hair & Makeup - Chou Makeup (tea ceremony) & Minh Loc Artist (reception)
I had no doubt that I would go for Chou and Minh Loc for my makeup and hair. Both of them are true artists and they have this talent of highlighting the natural beauty of anyone they touch.

Wedding gown - BHLDN NYC, Jay Godfrey
"Ao dai" is Vietnam's iconic traditional dress which most of the brides wear it in the tea ceremony. The "ao dai" was made from my uncle and auntie with love. I'm so grateful that they made it for me just in 2 weeks and it was very beautiful.
" I was browsing many wedding stores in New York and luckily, I found my dream dress through one of my friends. I fall in love at first sight with their designs and fabrics. My wedding gown is the collab design by Amy Kuschel and Jenny Yoo"
I love how the gown is traditional and elegant which made of Italian lace and ten layers of the skirts. I’m so thankful that Mrs Melfy really took the time to alter the dresses to fit me like the gloves.
First, I thought I just need one dress but then I ended up have 4 dresses (that's what a girl always says 😅) I'm so happy because all of them simply reflect my personal style.
Bridesmaids' dress - Lane JT
Finding the perfect dress for my beautiful bridesmaids is also a big challenge for me. It would be a special gift to my special girls on my big day. So I want to make sure they would love it and it will remind them that they're part of my big day. I found Lane JT which their design is so elegant and feminine. All my bridesmaids love it and I'm so happy that I made the right choice :))
Wedding Shoes - Belle Bella
I know how it is difficult to choose the perfect wedding shoes because I spent a lot of time on them to search and search. Then I found Belle Bella shoes which are perfect for the bride. Their shoes are all handmade, exquisite details and all-day comfort so you can stand and dance the whole night.
Wedding Planner - Mix Design Your Wedding
Dung is an absolute angel. She and her crew were very instrumental in making our wedding successful.
I’m so happy that I got her because the whole event was super stress-free for me.
During the preparations, she responded to me quickly every time I asked her, she introduced Mr Khang - the talent MC and suggested me a lot of good ideas.
The whole event was really stress-free because the MC was so professional about everything.
I’m grateful that she and her team were so accommodating of all my requests and they really did well in making sure that my wedding was the wedding of my dreams.
Music Band - Gipsy Fire Band
I love music and flamenco so when I was thinking about what to entertain in the reception, I suddenly remembered Gipsy Fire Band. They are Filipino band and used to play in Phuong Vy singer's wedding. They sing and dance very well which makes the guests want to dance also 💃
Wedding Venue - Eastin Grand Hotel Saigon
I just love that we had our wedding at Eastin because their service was impeccable.
There could be a few hiccups while the entire wedding was happening but I honestly didn’t feel it because the people the team and everyone who’s been working on the wedding did their best to guarantee a smooth-sailing memorable event for us.
The fact that they cared about even the tiniest detail of my wedding added so much value to the entire experience.
Our wedding was a product of a lot of people’s effort and expertise. Everyone in the event did their part and I really can’t say otherwise.
